Packaging & logisticsIn-houseProtective or cleanroom double-bag packaging, labelling to your part numbers, and scheduled air or sea shipment from Singapore under FTA terms.

How the Program Is Managed

  • BOM and revision control - Each assembly is built to a controlled BOM revision; engineering change orders are acknowledged, costed and cut in at an agreed release, with the effectivity recorded on the traveler.
  • Scheduled releases - Blanket orders released weekly or monthly against your forecast, so finished modules arrive as your line consumes them rather than as inventory.
  • Procured or consigned hardware - Hardware bought from approved manufacturers on your BOM or consigned by you; both pass incoming inspection and are tracked to the build.
  • Traceability - Material certificates, finishing certificates, torque records and inspection reports linked to the lot or serial number of the assembly.
  • One point of contact - A named engineer owns the program from RFQ through production, so schedule, quality and change questions have one answer.

Qualification Path

How OEM programs typically qualify Shine, from first contact to production releases:

  1. 1

    Mutual NDA

Executed within 24 hours so assembly drawings and BOMs can be shared.

  2. 2

    Capability review & DFM

Engineering reviews tolerances, material compatibility, finishing and the assembly sequence; quote follows within 24–48 hours.

  3. 3

    Supplier audit

On-site or virtual audit of the ISO 9001:2015 system, metrology, cleanrooms and traceability records.

  4. 4

    First article & documentation

FAI on machined components and a documented first build of the assembly; PPAP-style packages where the program requires them.

  5. 5

    Pilot build

A small release proves the traveler, torque records and packaging before volume.

  6. 6

    Production releases

Blanket order released weekly or monthly to your line, with change control on every revision.

Contamination-sensitive modules

Assembly in ISO Class 6, 7 and 8 cleanrooms

Semiconductor, medical and optics modules are cleaned, assembled and cleanroom double-bagged in certified cleanrooms so they enter your controlled area without a second cleaning loop.

Quality Documentation Delivered With Every Lot

Assembled modules ship with the component records plus the assembly records a program needs:

First Article Inspection (FAI)

Setup approval measured on Zeiss CMM before a production run is released.

Dimensional inspection report

100% or AQL sampling report against the drawing, per customer inspection plan.

Mill Test Certificate (MTC)

Raw material chemistry and mechanical properties, traceable to the lot.

Certificate of Conformance (CoC)

Issued with every shipment under the ISO 9001:2015 quality system.

Assembly traveler & torque record

Operation-by-operation record of the build, torque values and operator sign-off per unit or lot.

Incoming inspection record

Verification of procured and consigned hardware against the BOM and manufacturer certificates.

Metrology equipment, calibration schedules, and complete inspection workflows are detailed under quality & compliance.

Volumes & Typical Lead Times

Component lead times follow the standard bands; a new program adds procurement and a documented first build before releases start:

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the minimum size of program for turnkey contract manufacturing?

There is no fixed minimum. A program is worth consolidating when a customer is managing three or more vendors for one assembly, or when finishing and assembly hand-offs are causing fit problems. Small recurring modules and single pilot builds are both quoted; the value comes from one party owning fit, function and schedule.

Do you procure hardware or can we consign it?

Either. Shine procures fasteners, inserts, bearings, seals and similar hardware from approved manufacturers on your BOM and inspects them on receipt. Customers can also consign hardware or long-lead components, which enter the same incoming inspection and are tracked against the build.

Do you offer electronics box-build or PCB assembly?

No. Shine is a mechanical contract manufacturer. We do not offer PCB assembly, wiring, potting or electronics box-build. Programs that need electronics integration are usually split with an EMS partner, with Shine supplying the machined and mechanically assembled modules that the electronics are built into.

How is our IP protected across a multi-vendor program?

Drawings are received under a mutual NDA and handled on encrypted systems certified under Singapore's Cyber Essentials Mark. Finishing vendors receive only the component drawings they need, never the assembly or BOM, and shop-floor access to program areas is restricted. Singapore's English common-law framework backs the agreements.

What lead time should we plan for a new program?

Typically 6–10 weeks from approved drawings to a first pilot build, driven by procured hardware lead times and finishing cycles rather than machining. Machined components alone follow the standard bands: prototypes in 7–10 working days, production in 4–6 weeks for the first release. Recurring releases then run to a blanket schedule.

On what terms do you ship, and how do FTAs apply?

Shipments are made on your preferred Incoterms by air from Changi or sea from PSA. Qualifying machined and assembled goods enter the United States and European Union at zero or preferential tariffs under the USSFTA and EUSFTA, and we prepare the origin documentation with each shipment.
